Last week for my Green Brand Strategies class at the U of O, I did a presentation with my group about Chevron's inabilities to stand up and take action for their past failures with the environment. Over the past 20 years oil is destroying the rainforest and the people of the small town of San Carlos, Ecuador. Chevron is not taking action to clean up their leftover oil pools. Chevron refuses to stand up for damages they have caused and are currently causing right now.
To get more research on this issue, I suggest visiting ChevronToxico. It's a great website that has a lot of information about the ongoing trial happening right now against Chevron. Also, watch the documentary CRUDE to visually see the damage Chevron is causing.
The reason I am writing this blog post because I want to create awareness about what we can do to help. As of right now, the best thing we can do to expose this issue is to start talking about it. Spread the word so we can get more people to help fight Chevron. Lastly, sign the petition by ChevronToxico to get Chevron CEO John Watson to hopefully finally realize that people want him to make a change. Here is a link to the petition and please do your part!!!
